How to sign up or Follow the CAG Blog

You've got mail...from CAG!!!

Since I started the CAG blog, members have been asking me about how to sign up for emails and what  it means to be a follower.  I thought I would try to give those of you not familiar with blogging an explanation of how to sign up and the benefits.  Signing up for the blog makes keeping up with all the CAG posts  very convenient.  We all know what an effort it is to remember a  website and go back checking every few days to see what's new.  Signing up by email or following takes care of that problem!

When you sign up to receive emails... it is so easy... all you have to do is wait for the new posts to come to your email box!  After you add your email address on the CAG  blog site, you will receive a letter in your email which will have a link giving permission for posts to be mailed to you.  If you don't receive this email soon, check and see if the letter went to the junk mail folder.  Sometimes  emails you really want, do not get sent to the right place.  In the past few days I had a receipt I was looking for and yep... there it was in my junk mail folder.  Once you receive your letter and have clicked on the link that confirms you want the emails, you should start  receiving posts the next time they are sent out.   Remember, when you sign up, your email address will not be displayed to anyone and will not be sold or given away.  

The other option is to be a Follower.   Followers are people who are interested in the blog and show their support for the Cheyenne Artists Guild by showing their personal icon.   You can become a follower by  hitting this link on the blog site.  By being a follower not only do you show support for the blog but all the posts should be available in a reading list. On my computer, I have my personal reading list set up where all posts from all the blogs I follow, can be read at one time in Google Reader.   It's pretty cool... when  I sign into Google Reader every blog I subscribe to will  show up  with new posts in bold print.  If you follow through reader you will never miss out on any of the news you want to read! These posts do not go to your email box, so for those of you that do not want to be bothered by extra email, this could be the solution for you!  To sign up as a follower you must have an account with one of the following services,  Google (like example xyw@gmail.com), Twitter, Yahoo, Aim, Netlog or OpenID.   When you sign into one of these services simply hit the link to sign up as a follower and confirm on that page.  Remember the benefits, when you sign up as a Follower.  (1) Newsfeed subscription, so you can read the blog in your feed reader.  These posts will not come to your email.  (2)Your personal icon on the blog  shows your support for the Cheyenne Artists Guild, letting everyone know you think this is a great blog!
