CAG Members win awards at the 2012 US Bank Glass Art Celebration at the Cheyenne Botanical Gardens in Cheyenne


Congratulations to all that won in the 2012 US Bank Glass Art Celebration at the Cheyenne Botanical Gardens. The CAG members to take home awards were: Kathi Tarantola winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in Hot Glass and Jennifer Heckman winning 2nd place in 3Dimensional and 1st place in Warm Glass! Way to go CAG glass artists!!!  Also a special congratulation goes out to our February CAG speaker Beth Rulli, winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in Painted Glass!

Call for Entries: The April Cheyenne Artists Guild Easter Art Show and Sale

CAG is calling for entries into the annual 
April Easter Art Show and Sale 

This event is open to the public, with a limit of two works of art per artist with no entry fee!  So get out your paintbrush and create a masterpiece to show Cheyenne!!!  

The entry deadline is 4:30 p.m. on March 30.  

There will be a reception open to the public on April 8 from 2-4 p.m. Everyone is welcome and encourage to attend!

CAG MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: GINNY ROWLAND

Ginny Rowland's love of painting began when her husband was stationed in Alaska during the years of 1964 - 1968.  Busy with work and family, she did not paint again until a move to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1973.  After joining the Cheyenne Artists Guild in 1985, she became an active leader at the guild.  She has been President several times and been a Board Member ever since she first joined.   Her work has been shown in the Western Spirit Art Show and Sale as well as the Juried National Art Show and Sale at the Cheyenne Artists Guild.  In 1994 she also, had a solo Exhibit and Sale at the Cheyenne Civic Center.  Over the years, Ginny has experimented with oil, pastel, tempera, acrylic and watercolor but for the last few years her emphasis has been painting in watercolor, since joining an online group of artists in a weekly art challenge.

CALLING ARTISTS: Please donate to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter Fur Ball



The Fur Ball is the biggest and most crucial fund raiser of the year for the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.  Funds raised during the Fur Ball are used to support the shelter's proactive, life-saving programs that help both animals and the people who care for them. The Fur Ball is a howl-ing fun night including dinner and live and silent auctions, while at the same time allowing guests the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals in Southeastern Wyoming. 


Your donation of artwork to this annual fund raiser is tax deductible! The Shelter will appreciate your gift as will many homeless animals in Cheyenne!

Jenny Paulk graduated from Oklahoma State University, where she received a BFA in Studio Art and Art History with a concentration in ceramics. Post graduation, she taught art at the Philbrook Museum of Art, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After moving to Tucson, Arizona in 2008, she taught art for the education department at the Tucson Museum of Art and was a docent as well. She joined the guild in September and is currently the Chairman of Publicity at the guild, and has studio space at Clay, Paper, Scissors Art Gallery in downtown Cheyenne. Her clay work involves the great outdoors and sculpting the plant life surrounding us.
