CAG presents Summer Children's Workshops June 25-29 CLAY PLAY


Week 2: June 25th-29th
A.M. - CLAY PLAY:
Use your hands to create works of art out of clay! Students will gain knowledge of the background and history of clay and how it was used thousands of years ago. They will learn the fundamental techniques of coil, slab, and pinch, as well as how to mold and create different cups, pots, and bowls.
P.M. - FIGURES IN CLAY:
Students will use their creativity to hand build animal figures, as well as totem poles, and dream houses using techniques and many different clay tools.


FEES 
Members $60 per Child per Class
Non-members $75 per Child per Class

SIGN – UP
Registration is required at least 3 business days before each weekly session begins. Due to the popularity of classes, parents/guardians are encouraged to register for desired weeks as soon as possible.

Mail: Complete and sign the registration form for each child, including check, made payable to the Cheyenne Artists Guild.

Drop Off: Registration forms and fees are accepted at the Cheyenne Artists Guild located at 1701 Morrie Avenue in Holiday Park, Tuesday - Friday, 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm. The CAG is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. 2012 Summer Art Classes for Children at CAG


SUMMER ARTS PROGRAM
AT THE CHEYENNE ARTISTS GUILD 
Draw, paint, sculpt, collage, print, and more at the Cheyenne Artists Guild this summer!
The Cheyenne Artists Guild is happy to announce that they will be having summer workshops for children in the months of June and July. Each weekly session is led by local artist and educator, Jenny Paulk ( click here to read more about Jenny ), and assisted by other Artists Guild artists, focusing on in-depth lessons in art making. Classes are arranged by age and meet Monday through Friday during the summer.  Classes of up to 12 children (grouped by ages 6-12) will express their creativity and create original works of art! SCHEDULE  
The Cheyenne Artists Guild opens at 8:30 am.  
Please do not drop off children before this time.

Morning Session: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Monday-Friday 

Afternoon Session: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday  



* Students will have short breaks throughout the morning for snacks

 and restroom breaks. 
Children must bring their own water 


bottle/drink and snacks.  

Children that are staying a full day 

must bring their own lunch with their name on it.  
There is a refrigerator at the Guild to put lunches in. 

FEES

Jenny Henninger graduated from Oklahoma State University, where she received a BFA in Studio Art and Art History with a concentration in ceramics. Post graduation, she taught art at the Philbrook Museum of Art, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After moving to Tucson, Arizona in 2008, she taught art for the education department at the Tucson Museum of Art and was a docent as well. She joined the guild in September and is currently the Chairman of Publicity at the guild, and has studio space at Clay, Paper, Scissors Art Gallery in downtown Cheyenne. Her clay work involves the great outdoors and sculpting the plant life surrounding us.

Jenny Paulk Workshop January 14-15th


Jenny Paulk Presents

“Encaustic and Crayons”
January 14th & 15th 2012

at the Cheyenne Artists Guild

$80 for Guild members 
and $100 for non-members

This workshop can be for the beginner or advanced painter who is interested in learning the fun and different ways of painting a canvas using melted crayons, and a method called Encaustic painting, which is painting with wax. 
We will begin with discussion of Encaustic painting, its history, and the different techniques. To get warmed up, we will begin painting our canvas using acrylic paint, glue crayons on top of the painting, and then use hair dryers to melt the crayons.  Sunday, we will use a second canvas for the encaustic paintings.  Students will be doing a lot of painting in during the 2 days of class using acrylic and wax.
