Vanda Edington
"Creating a
visual image, a communication that evokes positive emotion – first for me and
then others – is what art means to me. It is the personal expression of
fleeting thought, whimsy, a smile, a beautiful day. My inspiration comes from
workshops, travel and other artists as I discover my visual voice. You will
find my paintings are moving to be a bit more impressionistic, as I strive to
simplify images as I simplify life. Enjoy the journey with me. I hope to enLiven
a moment. "
Awards:
Vanda
received Signature Status of the Pastel Society of Colorado in 2011. Her art
has been accepted in numerous regional juried exhibitions, including the Old
West Museum Western Spirit Show and the Governor's Capitol Art Exhibition. In
the various exhibitions she has won many awards and prizes. She recently was
featured in a solo show, Purely Pastel, with her mentor, Terrie Lombardi showing exclusively pastel
works of art at the Ester and John Clay Fine art Gallery. During 2011 and 2012,
Vanda and her pastel pal Gail Watford have shown their
work in 5 duo-exhibitions in Cheyenne and Laramie, WY.
