Laurell Fogg loves the vastness, beauty, and diversity of Wyoming and portrays that in her art.

Laurell's grandparents established their homestead near LaGrange, WY. The rural lifestyle, combined with obtaining degrees in art and education from the University of Wyoming, has influenced her decisions in her art and life. Laurell is a retired teacher, having taught at Burns High, and Carpenter Elementary, as well as at the eastern campus of Laramie County Community College.

Active involvement in all facets of ranching, and participation in rodeos and parades give Laurell inspiration for her art. She has won numerous awards at local, state, and regional competitions, and her art has also been exhibited in Washington D.C. Congressional offices.

Laurell and her husband, Calvin, reside on their ranch east of Cheyenne, WY, where they raise Angus cattle, and spend as much time as possible with their grandchildren. Laurell hopes her artistic expressions will renew memories, or will instill in the viewer an exploration of the Wyoming way of life.

Veiw of a DIANE PERRY WORKSHOP

Diane Perry demonstrates watercolor techniques
Did you miss the
DIANE PERRY WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
at CAG on March 23-24, 2013
"GO WITH THE FLOW"?

Here's a few photos of what you missed at this filled to capacity watercolor workshop at the Cheyenne Artists Guild this past March.  Attending artists learned from award winning artist, Diane Perry, how to make their watercolors move and flow of their own accord all the while also creating detail as desired in their painting.  This workshop also focused on learning  about the use of color as well as the importance of variation in edges which creating those soft dreamy watercolors we all love!

Don't miss next time!!!

Watch the CAG Blog and Website for another Diane Perry
Workshop to be back at the Cheyenne Artists Guild soon!

Thanks goes out to Susie Heller for the photos!

Thank You David Grover

David Grover wins 1st place
 at the 2012 Easter Show
Did you ever wonder where the beautiful welcoming signs displayed on the front of the Cheyenne artist guild building came from?  Our own dedicated member, David Grover has been making a new sign each month for us!  In his own words David tells us a little about how the process came to be!   We want to thank David for his work and dedication in making the oldest artists guild in Wyoming a special place!!!

"The signs began as an effort to reach out to the traffic stream, while it was within reach on Morrie Ave., detoured around the US 20 construction. A double sided sign was made up as Mohala Johnson attempted to contact the city for permission to display it outside of our little compound.  But it was all for naught  for the city didn't return the call, and the detour was short lived.

Now we're making up a set of signs to be used year around to inform the curious, and we hope, to be pleasant to look at."
