Applications for Broomfield's Art for Awhile

The Broomfield Public Art Committee is seeking artists who want their work to hang at the 1stBank Center. As part of the Art for Awhile program, works will be displayed on a wall at the center for a predetermined period of time.

Art for Awhile is an art-on-loan program created by the committee. Participating artists are chosen by committee to display their art at the Broomfield cultural complex, North Metro Fire Rescue District headquarters and on the main concourse at the 1stBank Center.

Sculptures outside of the Broomfield Auditorium and Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library are examples of the works included in the program.

Participating artists also can put their works up for sale, with a small percentage of the sale retained by the Broomfield Public Art Committee to be used for the funding its permanent collection.

The committee is touting the 1stBank Center, which hosts numerous concerts and events, as a "venue will provide maximum exposure, benefiting the artist and the community."

Broomfield’s Art for Awhile Program

Art for Awhile is an exciting art on loan program which was created by the Broomfield Public Art Committee and approved by the Broomfield City Council in 2009. Participating artists are chosen by the Public Art Committee to display their art and offer it for sale for a predetermined period of time. The program affords the artist increased public exposure, as well as the opportunity to sell their work, with a small percentage of the sale retained by the Broomfield Public Art Committee to be used for the funding of their permanent collection.

The 1STBANK Center Art for Awhile exhibit is truly an incredible opportunity to reach multiple entertainment venues within one location. The venue will provide maximum exposure, benefiting the artist and the community.

Each Exhibit Installment Period lasts four months.

Exhibit Installment Period 2: October 1, 2013 - January 30, 2014
Exhibit Installment Period 3: February 1, 2014 - May 30, 2014
