This will be our 67th consecutive year showing art and craftwork in this distinctive mountain setting.

The Juried Show is open to all artists living in the Rocky Mountain States of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.  The Entry Fee is $35.  You may submit up to 3 pieces of two dimensional fine art (includes photography), and 5 pieces of three dimensional work.

$2000 in awards will be given across all categories.

GCAA advertises in the local area papers and places an advertisement in the Central City Opera program. GCAA mails postcards to past customers and distributes rack cards in the Denver metro area, including the Denver Visitor Centers. We are now featured in the ArtSeen magazine.  An internet web page www.gilpin.arts.org  is utilized as well as Facebook social media. Local events are held in the gallery to promote the gallery in the local community - Democratic fund raiser, a Central City Rotary Club luncheon, and the Creepy Crawl fall event. After being in existence for 67 years, we have many returning patrons especially those attending the Central City Opera, which is across the street from our gallery.

We also ask artists to volunteer some time in helping with the gallery such as cleaning and setting up the gallery before the check in date, checking in artists’ work and hanging art for the show, assisting with receptions, helping with sales and wrapping during opera times, or doing demonstrations for the public.  The Association depends on volunteers to keep the gallery functioning.  This summer we will have more presence in the streets during Central City events on many weekends.  Watch for more information to participate with the ability to sell your work directly and promote the gallery.
