Watercolor Painting by Diane Perry

DIANE PERRY'S ARTIST STATEMENT

Diane has been an artist her entire life.  "My earliest art memory goes back to the age of 3.  I remember Mom and Dad would pass paper and pencils out to my younger sisters and I during the sermon in church as a means to keep us somewhat occupied and quiet."  From that point on art has been an essential element of her life.

Watercolor and oil are Diane's mediums of choice, however, watercolor offers more challenges and therefore is much more fun.  She loves the freshness and versatility of watercolor, working both in the studio and in plein air.

Diane is an award winning artist and has participated in numerous national art shows including the Mountain Oyster Club Show in Tucson, AZ., the Bosque Conservatory Art Classic in Clifton, TX.,  the Artists Association of Northern Colorado National Exhibition in Fort Collins, CO., and the Celebration of Western Art Show in San Francisco, CA., as well as many regional shows throughout Colorado and Wyoming.  She is represented by The Wild Horse Gallery in Steamboat Springs, CO., Deselms Fine Art Gallery in Cheyenne, WY., and The Raindance Gallery in Jackson, WY.

In addition to painting Diane teaches watercolor classes and workshops.   "I am so grateful to my teachers/mentors and other artists  who have helped me along my artistic journey.  There seems to be little enough I can do to express my appreciation for all that I have learned from them.  It seems fitting and is extremely gratifying to pass along to others that which I've learned over the years".

Diane lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with her husband Richard.  She loves being close to the mountains where inspiration is literally just beyond her doorstep.
